Let’s get more people dancing: BDSA response to the Sport England Active Lives Survey

We all know one of the key goals of any sport governing body is to increase participation at all levels in their sport. Having good data on participation levels is the foundation for assessing progress and trends. That’s why Sport England’s Active Lives survey is so important. This annual publication gives details of adult and young people’s participation in different sports across England.

The BDSA has summarised the key data for dance class participation and set out our views in our Response document. You’ll see details of some of the things we are already doing as well as plans to help grow an inclusive, fair and accessible sport. There is still a lot to do, and we look forward to working with all of you to get more people dancing.

Let us know what you think of our response. And we’d love to hear about any specific work our members are doing to transform participation in dance. Contact us at info@bdsassociation.com with any comments, ideas or suggestions.
